KOMI

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-02

These Terms of Service govern your use of Komi as a marketplace platform that connects users with independent barbers and grooming professionals.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Komi. Komi is a web and mobile marketplace platform that helps users discover, compare, and book appointments with independent barbers and grooming professionals. In some cases, Komi may also facilitate payments connected to bookings.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Komi, including the website, mobile applications, booking flows, payment flows, content, and related services. By creating an account, browsing the platform, booking an appointment, listing a barber profile, or otherwise using Komi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Komi.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to create an account or use Komi as a registered user. If you use Komi on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Komi is lawful in your location and that all information you provide is accurate and current.

3. User Accounts

You may need an account to access certain features, including bookings, saved profiles, and payments. You agree to provide truthful, complete, and up-to-date information when creating and maintaining your account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for safeguarding your login credentials. You must notify Komi promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Komi may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts, remove access to features, or require additional verification at any time if we believe an account violates these Terms, creates risk for the platform or other users, or is otherwise unlawful or harmful.

4. Marketplace Disclaimer

Komi is an intermediary marketplace only. Komi does not employ barbers, salons, barbershops, or grooming professionals listed on the platform, and Komi does not provide barbering, grooming, hygiene, cosmetic, or related services directly.

Each barber or grooming professional on Komi acts as an independent provider and is solely responsible for the services they advertise and perform, including service quality, safety, legality, pricing, business operations, sanitation, scheduling, and customer interactions.

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, franchise, joint venture, partnership, or similar relationship between Komi and any barber, shop, or provider. Komi does not control and is not responsible for how providers perform services offline.

  • Komi is not the service provider for barber or grooming services booked through the platform.
  • Komi does not guarantee the quality, suitability, legality, safety, licensing, hygiene standards, timing, or outcome of any service.
  • Komi is not responsible for the acts, omissions, misconduct, negligence, or illegal activity of users, barbers, or third parties.

5. Barber Responsibilities

If you register or operate on Komi as a barber or grooming professional, you are solely responsible for your business, profile, conduct, and the services you provide.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing rules, tax obligations, consumer protection requirements, hygiene standards, health and safety rules, and permit requirements.
  • Provide accurate and non-misleading information about your identity, qualifications, availability, pricing, business location, services, and portfolio.
  • Honor bookings you accept unless cancellation is reasonably necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance, licenses, and professional permissions where required by law.
  • Ensure that all services provided through leads or bookings generated by Komi are lawful and professionally delivered.

6. User Responsibilities

If you use Komi to browse or book services, you agree to act honestly, respectfully, and lawfully.

  • Provide accurate booking and contact information.
  • Attend appointments as booked or cancel within the applicable cancellation window.
  • Pay all valid charges connected to your booking or use of paid features.
  • Treat barbers, shops, and Komi staff respectfully.
  • Use the platform only for legitimate personal or business purposes related to barber and grooming discovery, booking, and related marketplace activity.

7. Bookings and Payments

Komi may allow users to request, confirm, manage, cancel, or pay for bookings through the platform. A booking is formed between the user and the independent barber or provider, not between the user and Komi.

Providers are responsible for the services they list, the appointment availability they publish, the policies they apply, and the services they ultimately perform. Komi may provide booking tools, reminders, payment support, or operational messaging, but Komi is not a party to the offline service relationship.

If payments are enabled, payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. By paying through Komi, you agree to comply with any applicable payment processor terms as well as these Terms.

Refunds, partial refunds, credits, and charge outcomes may depend on the circumstances of the booking, the provider's policies, payment processor rules, and applicable law. Unless required by law or expressly stated by Komi, Komi is not obligated to issue refunds for disputes arising from offline services performed by independent providers.

8. Cancellations and No-Shows

Users may cancel or reschedule bookings where the relevant barber, booking policy, or feature flow allows it. Barbers may define their own cancellation, lateness, rescheduling, deposit, and no-show policies, subject to applicable law.

By using Komi, you understand that cancellation disputes, lateness disputes, and service disputes are primarily matters between the user and the independent provider. Komi may assist operationally but is not responsible for resolving every dispute and does not guarantee a particular outcome.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use Komi to engage in unlawful, misleading, abusive, risky, or harmful conduct.

  • Fraud, scams, impersonation, or use of false identities.
  • Creating fake accounts, fake provider profiles, or misleading listings.
  • Harassment, hate speech, threats, intimidation, stalking, or abusive conduct.
  • Uploading unlawful, infringing, obscene, defamatory, or deceptive content.
  • Circumventing payments, platform protections, verification steps, or booking controls.
  • Attempting to hack, disrupt, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or misuse the platform or its infrastructure.
  • Using Komi to advertise or arrange illegal services or activity.

10. Content and Profiles

Users and barbers are responsible for the information, photos, descriptions, reviews, messages, pricing, and other content they submit or display on Komi. You represent that you have the rights necessary to post that content and that it is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.

Komi may review, moderate, edit, refuse, suspend, de-rank, or remove any listing, profile, image, review, booking-related content, or other material at our discretion, including when we believe it violates these Terms, creates legal or safety risk, or harms trust in the marketplace.

11. Ratings and Reviews

Ratings and reviews must reflect genuine experiences and honest opinions. Reviews may not be fabricated, manipulated, exchanged for undisclosed incentives, or used to harass or defame another person.

Komi may moderate, refuse, remove, or limit reviews that appear abusive, irrelevant, fraudulent, misleading, unlawful, or inconsistent with a trustworthy marketplace experience.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Komi and its affiliates, founders, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, bookings, business opportunities, or reputation arising from or related to your use of the platform.

Komi is not liable for the conduct, services, omissions, negligence, misconduct, injuries, damages, disputes, cancellations, no-shows, hygiene failures, licensing failures, legal violations, or safety incidents involving users, barbers, shops, or any third party.

Komi does not warrant that services booked through the platform will meet your expectations or that any provider will act lawfully, safely, professionally, or on time. Your use of Komi and any offline service booked through Komi is at your own risk.

If Komi is found liable despite the limitations in these Terms, Komi's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the platform will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Komi in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred euros (EUR 100), unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Komi and its affiliates, founders, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers from and against any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, liabilities, damages, judgments, settlements, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your use of the platform, your content, your bookings, your services, your conduct, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

14. Platform Availability

Komi may update, improve, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any feature, flow, interface, content type, marketplace tool, or integration at any time. Komi does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, continuous uptime, or error-free operation.

Temporary downtime, maintenance, bugs, third-party outages, payment processor outages, mapping outages, email delivery issues, or mobile/web interruptions may affect availability. Komi is not liable for losses caused by platform downtime or technical interruption.

15. Termination

You may stop using Komi at any time. Komi may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access, listings, bookings, reviews, account, or use of any feature at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, acted unlawfully, or harmed the platform or other users.

Termination does not limit any rights or remedies that Komi may have under law or these Terms, and any provisions that should reasonably survive termination will continue to apply, including provisions about liability, indemnification, dispute responsibility, and governing law.

16. Privacy

Your use of Komi is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data. By using Komi, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Privacy Policy.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Thessaloniki, Greece will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the use of Komi, except where mandatory law requires a different forum.

18. Changes to Terms

Komi may update these Terms from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, marketplace rules, or operational improvements. When we make material changes, we may update the effective date, publish the revised Terms on the platform, and take additional notice steps where appropriate.

Your continued use of Komi after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the platform.
